Ioannis Moralis was born in 1968 and studied Economics at the University of Piraeus. He is the son of the late Petros Moralis, a well known and respected scholar and politician who served as Minister of Education.
He began his career at the age of 22 as a Sports Marketing and Communications consultant. For the past 20 year he worked for Olympiacos F.C. His excellent marketing and communications skills, as well as his managerial abilities allowed him to assume top executive positions of great responsibility within the company’s hierarchy.
In 2011 he became the Vice President and General Manager of OLYMPIACOS F.C., one year later he was elected President of the Greek Football Clubs League “Super League” and since 2017 he is the President of OLYMPIACOS FC.
In the spring of 2014 he embarked on unique endeavors as the new mayor of Piraeus after winning the municipal elections.
As the city’s Mayor he is a member of the Board of Piraeus Port Authority and the Foundation Zahariou.
He is married to Valia Kiriazis and has two children.
