Biography

Mr. George I. Kormas is an Economist and Real Estate Professional. Prior to that, he was Executive General Manager, Group Chief Real Estate of Piraeus Bank Group. He was responsible for the transformation of all Real Estate assets’ management on Piraeus Bank
Group’s balance sheet through the re-design, advice, and execution of the Bank’s strategy relative to the full life cycle of a real estate asset.
He was also the CEO of Piraeus Real Estate Management as well as of PICAR, both real estate subsidiaries of Piraeus Bank Group. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Bank, participated in the Senior Credit and Recovery Credit Committee and other real estate related Investment committees, and he also chaired or sit as a member on the boards of subsidiaries and other Piraeus Bank Group related companies.
Mr. Kormas has served as an Advisor to the Governor of Bank of Greece and prior to that, he worked for the European Central Bank.
He is a Chartered Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and he holds a Vordiplom in Economics and Management Sciences and a Diploma (MS) in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, from Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen in Germany.
