Charalampos Giannikopoulos is the founder and Managing Director of DCarbon, a consultancy firm whose goal is to provide sustainability and climate change resilience for businesses that are involved in the real estate sector.
Charalampos started his career in the UK as a Sustainability Coordinator of the R&D group at Aedas, a global leading architectural firm. In 2011 he was involved in the inaugural implementation of LEED in Greece at large scale commercial projects. With extensive experience in participating in multi disciplinary teams on major international projects including the “Masdar City” sustainable masterplan, Charalampos has been involved in prominent commercial, industrial and educational projects in the region, including management of the vast majority of LEED projects in Greece, as well as ESG and decarbonization services to real estate organizations. Provision of sustainability services for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Hospitals designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop are among the most significant projects Charalampos has been involved in.
In a personal capacity, Charalampos holds a Diploma in Architecture & Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and a MSc in Environmental Design & Engineering from University College London, UK. In addition, he holds multiple sustainability accreditation (LEED, BREEAM, WELL, EDGE, DGNB, Estidama) and since 2020 is a LEED Fellow.
